initial contact & preparation
During our initial phone call I gather key details, confirm the service date, time and location, and establish clear communication. I then prepare and send reflection questions to support preparation for a face-to-face meeting. .
family meeting
This 2–3 hour meeting is the heart of the process. We share stories and memories, explore personality, values and legacy, and discuss music, ritual, participation and the overall tone and structure of the ceremony.
family 'to-do' list
Following the meeting, I provide a clear and practical list outlining tasks, responsibilities and deadlines, such as music choices, photos and tributes, to help keep things manageable and reduce stress.
writing the ceremony
I draft the ceremony based on your stories and wishes, integrating any tributes or eulogies. Your contributions are encouraged and welcomed. They will be reviewed for timing, flow and repetition, and I can provide gentle guidance or editing support if requested.
review & final preparation
The full draft is shared with the you for fact-checking and emotional resonance. Revisions are made in response to your feedback, and the final script and detailed run sheet are prepared.
coordination with the funeral director
I maintain open, ongoing communication with the Funeral Director or Arranger to confirm logistics, honour your requests, and ensure everything is aligned. Orders of Service and run sheets are provided in advance to support smooth delivery on the day of service.
on the day
I arrive early to check in with the Funeral Conductor and AV operator, confirm cues, and will be there to greet you The service is delivered with warmth, clarity and a steady hand, creating space for shared reflection and farewell.
additional support
While I don’t usually supply printed booklets, slideshows or music, I’ can assist with selections, tribute & eulogy writing, symbolic actions, and explaining the flow of the day.
presentation and care
I will discuss attire with you so my presentation aligns with the tone of the service. I’m happy to adapt my dress or include meaningful details (such as colour-significant ribbon pins) so my presence feels appropriate and considered.
